Poems

Words I’d like to call art.

I wonder what they’d say about me when I’m dead

i’ve heard every angle of myself from every perspective possible

what they said weren’t especially kind

but nothing i haven’t heard of before

“oh my she was quite the friend”

i am nobody’s

am i worried they won’t remember a trait— i’ve written their cheat sheets?

“go up stage, say this”

my spirit walk you up my steps

“please care for me, it’s my funeral”

will the people i call my friends come?

or will they finally outgrow their chore?

so many questions with one answer

you’ll find papers in my stomach

i don’t pray to God for life

i pray for death to find me alive

I don’t like calling my art poems though much might say so, I never think that my silly little writings are ever good enough to be called “art” I always thought that, that would make actual poets felt invalidated. But if art is whatever the artist thinks is, then I’d like to think that this is art.
